Bijou Blessings Teen Empowerment
I am SO EXCITED to offer a yoga series for teens, since I have a special connection with this age group. The following is a description of the program I designed. This has been a long time coming, and I am so grateful to be a human able to connect and heal with other humans, no matter what age, experience or origin.

Bijou Blessings is holding space to introduce Chakra concepts to teens 13-16. I, Bijou, invite you to share yoga with your teen via this empowering experience. I have been teaching junior and senior high school students for 8 years in public school as a French teacher. This subject allows a student-teacher connection based on exploration and self-discovery. I have watched students struggle with lack of self confidence, social anxiety and fear of the unknown. My own struggle with depression, grief and simple adulthood has opened me up to the holistic healing arts. Since I have made major personal developments with the application of yoga practices, I have formatted relatable concepts for teens to apply to their daily routines.
Students will learn yoga studio etiquette and procedures. They will become familiar with things to expect and know when going to class. The Chakra themed activities provide tools to evaluate energy, reactions and choices. We will practice intensive meditations, participate in deep discussions, and complete yoga classes. Each day will focus on different Chakras and provide insights in working with that energy. Students will gain the confidence to continue practicing holistic healing, yoga and self-exploration.
Day 1- Ice Breakers, syllabus review, yoga studio etiquette, safety and a yoga class.
Day 2- Root Chakra & Sacral Chakra
Day 3- Solar Plexus Chakra & Heart Chakra
Day 4- Throat Chakra & Third Eye Chakra
Day 5- Crown Chakra & ending celebration
Each Chakra session includes an informational lesson, guided activities such as chanting, drawing, dancing and affirmation work, journal reflection time and a yoga class. Students will be able to repeat guided activities and journaling independently after course is complete.
